announcing the Wit Wisdom & Food podcast

September 8, 2016 by anne

witwisdomandfoodpodcast

It is official. I am starting a Wit Wisdom & Food podcast. I have thought about, talked about and planned this for so long I can hardly believe I have gotten it all together to actually do it. I couldn’t be more excited.

The show will celebrate people who are impacting the local food culture, changing the food system and encouraging shared meals. There will be a heavy focus on organizations and businesses in Indianapolis and the Midwest. There are a lot of amazing ideas and positive actions being taken in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. My hope is this podcast will showcase those ideas and inspire others to start projects in their own communities.

I also just hope it will be fun and entertaining for all of you listeners. I have what I think will be some exciting guests lined up.

The first and second episodes will be released on the same day (a TBD day in October, more details soon). I will kick it off with a background of me and how I went from Indy-SF-back to Indy and the differences I have noticed.

I am very excited about episode 2. I will be chatting with an old friend and former boss, Becky Hostetter. She owns Duos a restaurant and food truck operation that focuses on local, seasonal food. Slow food fast as she calls it. Becky has a long history as a restauranteur in Indianapolis. She started on of the, if not the first, vegetarian restaurants in Indianapolis, Essential Edibles. That is where I worked with her and her husband David. I am looking forward to hearing her thoughts on how Indy has grown and changed and what she is excited for in the future.

A few other guests that are on the calendar are Kate Franzman of Bee Public, RJ Wall of Chef’s Night Off, Colleen Rocap of MicroGreens Project Indy, and Hannah Lindgren creator of Food First Indy. It is shaping up to be a great season and I am hoping to get a lot more amazing guests from Indy and the midwest region.

If you have suggestions for guests please fill out the form below with their name and why you think they would be a great guest. Feel free to toot your own horn and add your name as a suggestion.

As a home cook and gardener, a former grocery store manager, and an advocate for improving our food system I have thousands of hours of research and real-world experience on how to get good food on our plates. My new challenge and my main focus is how to encourage my daughter to love food & eating as much as we do.
