Seems like a simple enough question, but if you stop to think about it the answer could surprise you. Mine didn’t surprise me in the “I would never think of them” but more in a “I can’t believe I never answered the question that way” before way. It seems that most people answer with people they aspire to be like but would never actually be. Typical answers: Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Obama, Lance Armstrong oh the list could go on. All admirable people no doubt about that, but I don’t have the will, the fortitude or (luckily) the obstacles they had to overcome. So while I could tell you I admire some of the people on that list and I hope to take some of what they taught me from a distance and try to make it part of my life it isn’t as significant as the people I really admire. They probably don’t even realize as they are reading this that I am about to mention them by name and are humble enough to think after reading this that I am a little off my rocker. I mean every bit of it and have very specific reasons for why right now I pick them.
Who I Admire

I admire Michael and Maya. They have picked up and lived in a variety of places and never wavered from who they are. Along the road and in the oddest of places they have met amazing people and gathered amazing stories. The minute it wasn’t what they wanted to do they have switched and turned it into something great. From Indiana, Brooklyn, Boston, Honolulu, back to Boston and on to Cincinnati they have struck out against fears and followed whatever they are passionate about. At least I hope they have fears cause it makes it all seem that much more possible for me to do it. Every time I read about a new store that is carrying their product or some great show they are a part of there is a little jealous that crops up and I think, “I wish that was me” or “what would happen if I followed my dreams that way”. So you can have the famous and I will admire my little brother and Maya because they make me want to take advantage of the time I have right in front of me.
