I finally got myself registered to vote at the new address. I wasn’t sure I was going to get it done in time so I hadn’t paid much attention to the Propositions on the ballot. I admit my can be rather lazy when it comes to my civic duty. Now that I know I will be voting I have taken some more time to look into them. I had seen the NO on 37 ads but not much on Yes on 37. A few days ago I saw an interview with Gary Hirshberg, the president and CEO of Stonyfield farm, in favor of Prop 37. Then I found the following YouTube clip with an interesting message.
For myself, I have decided to vote Yes on 37 because I want the ability to choose what I am eating. In all situations I want to be able to make an informed decision. I am able to make an informed decision on how to vote, but I can’t make an informed decision at the grocery store because the needed information isn’t required on the label. You can decide for yourself what you want to buy and if you don’t care if your food is made with GMO then good for you, but for the rest of us that don’t please allow it to be labeled so I can make an informed decision.
