Hello, World!hello, world

For 9 years, how has it been that long, I have been writing on this little blog. My slice of the internet. It has morphed and changed over the years and it is sometimes hard to not imagine what this little blog could be if only I had poured my heart and soul into it over the years.

What I have learned over the years is that while I love food, I love writing and I love learning I don’t love them enough to try and make this a business or as a way of making any kind of money. I also don’t like how the self-induced competition with other bloggers plays with my emotions. This part hasn’t been healthy for me. Nor has the near-obsession with stats, traffic, and comments.

What I do love is having a creative outlet, a place that I can share what I am loving, what I am questioning and my ah-ha moments I am sure someone else could learn from.

Because of all of those things, this little space is taking on a major makeover. I am taking over again and making this space about things that interest me. I am giving myself a space to be creative for the sole purpose of being creative. I am going to work hard to put writing and other media into the world that resonates with my voice. Articles I will be proud to have my name on. Articles that will teach me how to be a better writer and creator. Articles and hopefully audio that will introduce me to new people, ideas, and opportunities.

What you can expect. Nothing. I don’t know what I will be giving you. I don’t know what will drive me to start tap tapping on the keyboard and I certainly don’t know how frequent or infrequent that will happen. If you don’t want to miss anything or just want to see if it might be fun to be a voyeur on this journey I suggest signing up to get posts emailed to you (you can find the link in the side column) or follow my page on facebook where I will share my posts. If you know anything about Facebook, the most reliable way to get my posts will be signing up via email.

I will keep my email list though I don’t know yet what that will be used for. I would like to try an email any recipes I share to that list, but it is too early to make that commitment. To be honest, I am making no commitments on what this new chapter will bring. I am doing this for me, not you. Which I say, not to belittle your importance, but to honor me and to remind myself that my creativity does not depend on if you (the proverbial you or the specific you) pay attention or like what I do.

In lieu of that, I will be turning off comments to my posts. If you want to comment you will find me. Hopefully, you will be friendly and constructive not mean-spirited and hurtful.

I hope you will join me on this journey. Honestly, at this point, I think the only people still on this journey are people that get me and will be proud of me for writing this! If you are new to my story I hope you enjoy it enough to stick around. I am a sentimental heart so you can be sure to get plenty of glimpses into my past!
